This is probably my go-to place when it comes to Pho in Elk Grove. Mainly because I live very close to it but also they have really good food. Their restaurant decor looks modern compared to the usual pho restaurants. They have two tvs that plays the latest sports. They have a mixture of american music and vietnamese music playing in the background and their waiters/waitresses speak english better than your average pho restaurant! Their service is very quick as expected and I really like their chicken and pho special here, there's a lot of meat in it and the broth is flavorful. Their vermicelli noodle aka buon tom thit nuong is okay. They need to give me pork and less veggies at the bottom. They give very little and the egg roll that comes with it tastes kinda weird. I'm always wondering what they put in it because it just doesn't taste like what an eggroll should be. Their canh chua soup is really good too with rice. Lately, I've been ordering their hu tieu nam vang. I haven't found good hu tieu in sacramento yet but i feel that their hu tieu here will do. They have a good variety of seafood in here, the flavor is there. I love that they offer clear noodles instead of the usual pho noodles. Not many places offer that. Their 3-color dessert aka che ba mau, tastes okay but i really hate that they put such huge ice cubes in there. It doesn't chill the drink fast enough and the chunks just gets in your way when you're trying to put the contents in your mouth. Would be better if they could crush or grind their ice. Don't dine outside. The minute they bring your food out, your table becomes a hub for flies to hang out. It's super gross. The owner is really nice but other than that, I think it's a good place to have pho when you don't feel like driving out to Stockton Blvd.

Decent BBQ chicken rice plate. Had lots of flavor (maybe too much flavor?) Meat quality was questionable. 3 hrs later I realized that they put a lot of MSG in their food. (explains all the flavor) because i fell asleep while I was writing this. This is great if you need to fall asleep but the MSG withdrawal when you wake up is horrible. I need me a coconut water.

They give old noodles. We ordered two charbroiled pork with vermicelli noodles and the noodles were hard and clumpy instead of soft and limp. They were yesterday's noodles. Unacceptable. I thought about giving them a chance and not write this review, but the thought of them trying to get away with it upsets me to no end. I'm Asian so I know I've been ripped off and what the noodles are supposed to be like.

Just ate here, everything was good, but the khanh chau(sour soup) tastes alittle spoiled, complained to the manager, he had a taste of the soup and said nothing is wrong, our tastebuds were off. So rude. Never again.

Food was Ohk on the skimpy side , I order the Thai tea with tapioca and it tasted so nasty old used pearls is a big NO! Will not be coming back !

My boyfriend and I came here for lunch. We eat phô a lot and have tried many places. The broth was delicious and flavorful and I like that they offer bok choy if you ask to add veggies to your phô! I haven't had any place have bok choy on hand. My boyfriend ordered the vietnamese coffee (because he loves those) and said it tasted great! We really enjoyed the quality of the food and the vietnamese coffee of course. A bit more upscale and a little pricier than other phô locations in the area, but very well worth it! The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that the waitress didn't check on us much and left our water cups empty and we had to flag her down when we wanted something. Maybe she was a little overwhelmed since it was lunch time. But we will definitely be returning! De-licious!!!!!

A friend took me here we had a viet style halo halo! It was really big and had tons of goodies in it. We also had fresh spring rolls their dipping sauce was amazing. Cute lil place hidden in the back of the shopping center. I'm going back forsure!!

Not the greatest pho place...but super clean and the service is great. They have 2 tvs which are playing sports...a plus for me. The pho itself was clean...not the most flavorful...a little bland actually. But I love how they offer 3 sizes...and the noodles are cooked well. We ordered a combo and also a chicken pho. I was feeling a little under the weather...and nothing cures better than a bowl of chicken pho! The broth also wasn't hot...actually a little lukewarm. An extra bonus? The Thai tea and coconut juice were awesome. The prices are super cheap...$20 for 2 bowls and 2 drinks...can't beat that.

Smelled good but after waiting 15 minutes and watching 3 people get attended to, we decided to get up and walk out. Told the owner/manager and he brushed it off and one waiter said we had only been there for a couple minutes...I doubt it takes a couple minutes to take 3 orders and bring out food to one other table. At least ask what we want to drink, but not even that. Don't want to say it was something about perhaps race, but all the people after us that got attended to the moment they sat down, were of like race.

Love this place...The service is great. My husband and I love the fresh spring rolls with dipping sauce and the pho with meatballs...

  • Katrina Natsuko A.

I don't like their pho that much, they don't put enough meat and they add too much noodle and soup. The rice and plate entrée is fine but like I said not enough meat. The Vietnamese coffee is good and the Thai tea is good. I guess this will only be the place where I can get a good Thai tea. But over all service was okay. The place is okay.

It's sad to say that Pho Lotus is probably the best pho place you can find in Elk Grove. And I like that they've changed their hours so that they are open until 1am on weekends. However, everything I've had here from the spring rolls, to the pho ga, to the rice plates...it's all just decent. I've been here many times because my mom likes this place, and I try to order something different every time, but I still have yet to find one thing here that is really GOOD. I even had the vegetable pho once out of curiosity, since I don't see it on many menus...and it was terrible! It had no flavor, just boiled vegetables in water. If you are going to come to Pho Lotus, I recommend getting the special combo or the beef stew because its the best bang for your buck. The chicken broth is pretty bland, and the meat is dry, but I've ordered it with all dark meat and its a bit better. If you live in Elk Grove, I would suggest coming here out of convenience, it is slightly cheaper and better than other viet restaurants IN ELK GROVE....but if you can, definitely hit up the spots on Stockton Blvd. WAY BETTER PHO. WAY BETTER EVERYTHING!

If I could I would give it no stars!!!! Servers are so rude and not attentive at all and they rush you to take your order. I will not be coming here again!!!!!!

The food is good but pho I've had better the customer service is bad never come to check in on you and how everything was and the avocado shake is ok the after taste I not good if you want a shake than go with the mango shake I've been here a few times it's a 3 star -1 for bad service -1 cos the food is ok

    (3)
  • Annie W.

Okay...1star for the fried rice,it's okay for that area & for the big portion.but other than that the service is terrible!its slow and they take forever jus to refill!most the girls are rude with attitude problems, two dont have any manners,1 needs to learn how to put on makeup right before being rude, and always giving dirty looks, recommend calling to go if u want food from here.i don't care about this place, never again.

This is the preferred Pho spot for me and my family. We go pretty regularly. We have never had an issue with the service being slow or of having rude wait staff. We have shown up late, not long before closing time, and still received good service and food. It may not be the most authentic but it is really good. My kids love their shakes and the Thai Coffee is yummy. The prices are great too for the portions. Two people can easily eat for less than $20.

When this place first opened over 5 years ago, my husband and I would go 2-3 times/week! Pho Lotus was one of the 1st Vietnamese restaurants in EG! We moved out of state for 5 years and recently moved back... There's definitely been a change in ownership. The food is mediocre but the service is sooooo s.....l.....o....w... :( The service use to be fantastic but the change in ownership has made it unworthy of our business as there's other Vietnamese restaurants in the EG area.

I like the fact Pho Lotus is opened late on the weekends. The thing I don't understand is why Service here is so bad. It wasn't the best before but it has gotten worse! The food is average but nothing spectacular. I only come here because I live pretty close by but I would rather go to Pho Le down the street. The portions here are very little. I think for the most part, If they improve their service I would continue to come back. If it gets any worse I will have to resort to driving further to Pho Le from now on.

PROS + + + + open late CONS - - - - MSG - MSG - MSGGG!!! I came here for take out with a couple friends because it was the only open late pho place on this side of town. We were hungry and wanted something warm and filling. ordered pho ga, and beef chow fun. i cant even tell you if the food was tasty or not because after a small taste of the broth my lips and mouth were itchy from all the MSG they put in their broth making it totally inedible. I tried the chow fun, and the same ordeal. I can tolerate some MSG growing up in an Asian family and being taken out to many different Chinese restaurants you encounter it every now and then, but i've never had to deal with it in such a vast amount at once to where i had to toss the food away after only taking one bite. if you have no issue with MSG then im sure you'll be fine here. but otherwise stay away!!

  • Jeff B.

This is my second visit to this place. I've always had good pho elsewhere which tastes better, bigger portion and cheaper. They say the broth is good here but I must digress. The rice noodles was bland and not to die for. My meal was less than $10 but they wouldn't accept debit or cred cards unless the meal was over $10. I ended up getting a $3.95 beer just to get past the minimum. Service was porous at best and they forgot my water. After two trips I will stick with my favorite pho place in so Sac.

This pho spot is usually busy anytime I go and I've been a couple times. I remember the first time I went there were barely any ingredients in the pho which is why I didn't return for a while. I went recently and it was much more for the money! I like their fresh shakes too.

    (3)
  • JohnDoe 7.

This was my first time here and it was pretty good. It was somewhat busy for a lunch service on a Sunday. We where greeted and seated right away. Our server was friendly and and attentive. Our food came out in about 8 minutes and it was quite good. They are open super late also.

  • Nancy V.

Went here for dinner with my baby boy and we always order a large pho with a extra bowl with scissors, my son love it, but we lost a little communication error when I order durian shake and they make me a chocolate shake instead.. Fail.. Overall got my tummy full with hot soup. !!

    (5)
  • Connie C.

The pho here is the best I've had. I've tried other places and always compare how good they are to this place. I'm not a big fan of their fried noodles or rice dishes though. Tried their beef chow fun and the beef was tough and hard to chew. The fried noodles were lacking flavor and I found the bok choy overcooked. If you come, stick to the pho and you'll have a delicious meal.

    (3)
  • Julia D.

I haven't been to Pho Le yet, so I can safely say that this is the best pho in Elk Grove. Unfortunately, I can't come here on my lunches anymore because they are also the slowest pho in Elk Grove. Painfully slow. I'll be back when I can slack for lunch and be there for more than an hour.

    (4)
  • Brina G.

Love this place. The broth is so tasty. They have a great amount of seafood and they surely know how to make their vermicelli bowls. Only reason I give it 4 stars is cuz of sometimes the service is lacking... :/

  • Amir B.

I remember this restaurant being one of the best pho spots that ive been to in elk grove, but during my last visit about a week ago i was not too impressed with the food. However, the service was excellent, and the food was not horrible, but not the best. I would definitely rerurn.

Why don't some Asian restaurants do a better job timing the delivery of their dishes? We had a party of five for lunch at Pho Lotus, and several of us had the awkward experience of watching our table mates eat while waiting too long for our orders. Other than that, it's a good take on Vietnamese food. It was too hot for pho the day we were there, so we had noodle bowls, rice plates, sweet-and-sour chicken and fried wontons. Lots of food, moderately priced.

    (3)
  • D. M.

Yum - very happy to see a large menu, so many choices. I went with the crispy prawns, onion & peppers... when this dish is done right it's pretty darn good and it was done right here! Also had the Goi Cuon which were pretty large, ask for the nuoc cham for dipping and you won't regret it!

  • Vonnie T.

This is my first time here and the service was pretty bad. We sat down for roughly ten minutes and no one came by to take orders. We asked for two iced waters and we didn't receive it until after we got our food, but we had to asked again for the third time before getting it. The prices are highly priced for the amount of food we get compared to other Vietnamese places. The pho broth was bland! No one attended us. It was a bad first experience and I will most likely not come here again.

Pho Lotus has been my go to spot for pho since it is close to my house. Now I might have to find another place because the service has gone downhill. Yesterday my friend and I went to get a bowl of pho and I had a coupon where it was buy one entree get one free with a purchase of two drinks. There is an old man there working behind the counter collecting money when people pay for their meals. I showed him the coupon after they printed out the receipt. He gave me an attitude and warned me next time to show him the coupon before he prints out the receipt. To me it shouldn't matter much when I show them the coupon. I have about 3 more of these coupons so this is bad news for him. Advice for him is that if he is the owner of the place he needs to stay home because he is actually making things worse. After I use all my coupons I will find another Pho place who respects their customers. Also when it gets busy there the service is slow. We waited about 10 min before they came and took our order. We had our menus closed and we just sat there. Terrible.

The first time I ate here was before a job interview, so I played it safe, getting a medium bowl of their Pho Tai. When it came I was worried that I wouldn't finish it before my interview, as it was a larger bowl than I expected for "Medium", but the broth was so superb I couldn't not devour it. Prices were very affordable and I hope to go back to try their seafood bowls, as they cost little more than their beef bowls. Very nice decor, with a low light and cool-aired feeling during the early afternoon that was calming and inviting, not off-putting. Had a prompt, considerate staff.

Got lunch to-go and they charge .50 cents if it's under $10. Cheap nickel and diming baaaaastards!!! Those are the little things that cause a business to lose customers. The 2-3% the credit card machine charges is only .20-.30 cents on a $10 order anyway lol. And isn't that a tax write off?? Now they have more income to pay taxes on. Just don't get it...

Drive by this place all the time so decided to give it a try. The food was decent but the service was horrible. We had to order water, which we didn't get until half way through our diner. Asked one of the waiters cause ours was to busy playing with his hair and it took another 5 minutes to get it. We ordered two shakes with our meal and did not get them til our food was gone. Will never go back with service like that.

I just went for a visit today and had char broiled chicken with shrimp, egg rolls and rice noodles. The texture of the shrimp was a bit off but I thought I may have just poured too much sauce. NOPE! UNDER COOKED or OLD SHRIMP :( My stomach is killing me!!

Very nice staff. Food hit the spot. Will be making this place a regular spot to stop in and broaden my Vietnamese food horizons

  • Tina P.

My boyfriend calls this place "hot water pho" lol. Other than that, I love the decor and the ambiance. :) there's always a lot of customers eating here, so I'm sure the other menu offerings are bomb, but I stick with the pho. You have a choice to add extras such as more meat, noodles, wontons etc for $2.00 extra, but the meat in the wonton was really tough (like it's been overcooked) so I knocked a star off for that. Last time I are here, my sister ate all her noodles and drank her broth, which she never does. The waiters aren't very friendly, they just drop off your plates with a curt word, but it's an Asian restaurant, your not here for stellar service.

Overpriced pho restaurant that lacks a lot of flavors in their food. Drink was okay but my cup was 3/4 filled. Not impressed!

Best spot for after indoor surfing down the street. PLUS, on weekends they're open late! :)

  • Jack H.

Pho and bun bo hue, nothing better than those 2 entrees. The pho is pretty good. Very similar to any pho place in my previous reviews. The only thing was different was the cilantro is served seperate from usually being chopped up into the bowl. The bun bo hue was generally pretty good. The plus side is that the bowl is huge compared to the typical bowl. Thick round noodles and great tasting soup. May be a little salty for the others but its the way I like it. My only complaint is that the meats are from the pho. There is no sliced beef shank. You do however, get the pork blood, sliced pork cake, and tendon. Other than that, the soup nice and hot after I tossed the veggies in. No sliced banana leaves unfortunately. I don't think any place has them.

My wife and I really enjoy Vietnamese food and are always looking for new places to eat at. We heard about this place from a family member and so here we are. I of course had to refer to my handy Yelp iPhone app to see what my fellow Yelper's had to say about Pho Lotus and ultimately I have to agree. I rated the cleanliness, service and food as average. Nothing really made me go "WOW! This is delicious!", it was just good. No regrets. My favorite Vietnamese restaurant is still Viet Ha on Florin Rd.

  • Vanessa C.

This pho spot is alright. Not amazing but not terrible either. The pho didnt have as much ingredients as id prefer and the matcha drinks/viet coffee was a bit off. Overall the food was ok. Also, the service could be improved. A few of our servers were hard to understand at times because they were soft spoken and dont seem to speak english well. The pho places on Stockton Blvd are still my favorite at the moment.

Went there around 9 and was told no fry dishes will be made :( Just grill and soup. What a bummer.. and what was worst they didnt tell us until we order our sweets .. Poor poor service

I have been to Pho Lotus more than a couple of dozen times. My recent visit was as good as all of the others. I love the #10, rare beef in beef broth. The broth is so good...I customize my soup with Thai basil, cilantro, lime juice, bean sprouts, Sriracha, and Hoisin sauce! Y-U-M!!! The service is always great and their prices are reasonable. I also love their regular iced tea, it's light and refreshing and a perfect pair with the soup. Pho Lotus comes highly recommended by me!

A favorite spot of ours to come to especially after a night of drinking. Pho dac biet definitely hits the spot. And if you're looking for something with some heat, bun bo hue is the way to go.

What the Pho!!! Vietnamese Food is renown for its use of fresh mix of vegetables, herbs and spices to create a distinct flavor profile. Either My palate was sleeping or I missed something. Three separate dishes were just plain at best. I was left with an overwhelming feeling that somehow ingredients must be missing. "Bland" should never be associated with Vietnamese Food. I have been wanting to try this place for a very long time and expected a knockout punch of flavor. Based on previous reviews, I should have at least wanted more... Nope, food was fair. Overall the experience was good. Wait Staff was attentive and friendly. Very nice location and seating.

Only come here when I don't feel like driving all the way to Stockton Blvd. The soup is good, but the service is always horrible. They have an adequate amount of servers, but it seems like they're lost. They don't check up on you, and don't refill your waters.

  • Laura M.

Wow... How can people not LOVE this place?!?! I have been to quite a few Vietnamese restaurants but this one BY FAR is our favorite. I get the #52 (no mint no peanut) and it is so delicious. The 10A is also delicious! The service is just enough. They come every so often to ask if everything is ok and it is priced very reasonably. This place is always busy; that should tell you something. We come here at lease 4-5x a month :D On a side note, kids under 12 eat free on Wednesdays!

My friends had the number 12 and I had the beef, the egg rolls and the calamari it was so good so so so good . Friday and Saturday nights its open till 1 o'clock this is my new favorite restaurant highly recommend. The service top notch, very good the waiter and owner Robert were very polite. With a very beautiful restaurants where everyone speaks English perfectly. Lol.

The best part of my dining experience here was the company I spent it with. We showed up at a non rush time, so aside from a few other customers enjoying lunch... We pretty much had the place to ourselves. No complaints here. I had a large bowl of Pho. 10C (rare steak and fatty brisket) on the menu. It wasn't the best I have ever had, but it hit the spot all the same. The broth had a good flavor to it, and there were plenty of "additives" in reach to spice it up and make it personal. The place was clean with a nice atmosphere to it. The wait staff was timely, yet average in the personality department. Not overly friendly (which is good), but not really enthralled either. Again, we were there in between rushes. 3 stars is best I can do, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back if I am in the area. They serve a good bowl of noodle.

This might be a little daring to say, ( and any other Vietnamese person would fight me on this), but my mom makes THE best pho in town. However, since I don't always get the luxury of showing up to her house with pho readily available, it's nice to know Pho Lotus is around. I've read mixed reviews, and even among my friends, they are sketchy about it this place. Usually if you want "good" Vietnamese food, you'll have to trek to the "fabulous" Stockton blvd., but I have to say, I am a big fan of Pho Lotus! I've just recently been told that I am a picky eater. I never thought this to be true, but in recent trips to restaurants, I've now come to an understanding that I am. When I come to Pho Lotus I usually order 10B, Pho with rare beef and tripe. ( If you haven't noticed, this is usually what I get anywhere.) I love that they have a "small" option, because to me, it is just the right amount of noodles and broth. Most reviews have said the broth is bad or mediocre, but for this picky palette, I think the broth is more than mediocre, I think it's delicious!!! Let's just say I usually eat the noodles and by the end, I leave a ton of broth behind. However, here at Pho Lotus, nothing is usually left in my bowl but my chopsticks and soup spoon. I told myself the other day I'd like to try something else, but until then, the Pho is great to me. Now, on to my most favorite part of this restaurant, the service! Never have I gone to any Vietnamese restaurant where the service has exceeded my expectations. Considering my expectations aren't usually that high for Vietnamese restaurants, I am always thoroughly impressed with the service here. You are always greeted with a smile, (Yes people! A smile!) and everyone is attentive to refilling your waters, and asking if you are doing okay! You don't even have to flag them down for that!!!! The food comes out promptly, so during lunch hours we never run late. The waiters and waitresses call you sir and ma'am (omg!), and better yet, THEY WILL SPLIT THE BILL FOR YOU!!!! (WHAT!?!?!?) And they are actually more than happy to do it! (DOUBLE WHAT!?!?) I am one satisfied Vietnamese girl!! Granted, you might get slightly "better" food if you travel to South Sac, but if I want to avoid crazy drivers, crowded parking, and mediocre service, this is where I go!! Thank goodness for you, Pho Lotus!!

This is my go-to in Elk Grove if I am treating out friends to dinner. It's got satisfying portions of American Vietnamese food at a competitive price for Elk Grove. It's a fun place to go as a group with a comfortable and nicely decorated space. The menu is also pretty extensive for an American Vietnamese place. Late hours and reasonable pricing tends to make this restaurant more of a place where a younger crowd may frequent and so the noise level may reflect that. I don't mind it, though. The service, however, has some trouble with orders and attentiveness for both to-go orders and sit-down.

  • Diane F.

One of the first things I look for in a Vietnamese restaurant is clean bathrooms and clean dining area floors. If a restaurant values its cleanliness where a customer can notice, then it's safe to say that a restaurant values cleanliness in the kitchen, where your food is being prepared. Unfortunately, this establishment falls short on the cleanliness test, and I shudder to think of what the food preparation area is like. On the other hand, the food is delicious and reasonably priced, as long as you can get past the thought of what might be behind the kitchen door.

Deceiving Rating! After reviewing high rating regarding the food and the service here, we eagerly wanted to try out this restaurant. What a big disappointment!!! Food: we had the Spring Roll that most of the reviews mentioned and a bowl of egg noodle. The roll was very loosy with the shrimps that tasted and smell bad because the shrimp intestines were not removed. The egg noodle came in a giant bowl with a tinny portion of noodle, a couple slices of meat and the same bad quality shrimps. This is way too costly for a portion like that. Service: I give it 0 to 1 star. We waited a long time to be seat even though only half of the restaurant was occupied. The time we sat down and had someone took our order took almost 20 minutes. We had to kept look up and waved but the owner and three waiters made eyes contact and then ignored like they did not see us. An older Chinese couple next to us asked for their bean sprouts to be cooked for their Pho, but the waiter snapped at them like there's no such a thing. It's great to have a Vietnamese restaurant at Elk Grove, but having such a low quality of food and service, who would need them in the first place. I do not recommend this place.

Ordered the grilled pork rice plate with shrimp and egg rolls. The meal was highlighted in green, which must mean popular? What I recieved was a greasy over cooked egg rolls, thinly slice strip of pork (portioned for a small skinny kid), three shrimps, and slices of tomatoe/lettuce/and cucumber, all this for a little under $10. After leaving the restaurant I stopped by in n out for a double double. Probably won't go back there anymore.

I'm not going to lie, Pho Lotus is not my first choice if I'm craving a bowl of Pho. However, the Pho Tai is not bad. The portion size is pretty generous even for a medium bowl. The one thing I did notice was that there was not enough of the thin slices steak for my liking. The majority of my bowl was noodles with the tasty broth. A huge plus to this restaurant was that the environment was incredibly clean and the waiter we had on this particular visit was extremely attentive to our needs. That alone will have me coming back to this Elk Grove location. The only knock that I have is that a medium bowl cost $8.50. You can get a large bowl on Stockton Blvd. for 6.75. Besides, the price difference, Pho Lotus is a decent restaurant with lots of options on the menu. It's def. worth a try.

I'm from out of town and I found this place just searching for phø restaurants on my map, and I regret NOTHING!!! This place is great! The broth and the noodles were very delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful, even as I was waiting to pay a customer who had never tried phø was asking the guy at the front about what to put in and he didn't give him any short answers or seemed annoyed by this customer, no he was very friendly and shared some of his suggestions for what to add. Love this place, would definitely come back and suggest this place to anyone else who is looking for delicious food and great service!

By looking at the stars, this review will mislead you. I cant say this place is near perfect in every way except for tiny idiosyncrasies. But i can tell you the few items i have had are near perfect. And the free bowl of kids bowl of pho every Wednesday is drawing me & my 3 chitlins close like a hooker to a street corner. I dont crave ANY Vietnamese joint often. Actually I do crave a great Ban Xeo every so often (which this place unfortunately does not serve), but i DONT crave a bowl of noodle soup pretty much ever. I just cant. Its killer to a flat tummy, that i am not very well achieving, and being i am pushing 40, i need all the low carb food i can get. But #14, the beef stew is just like romance ignited. Like how good girls fall for bad boys. Like how Felicia liked Deebo. How Sandy liked Danny. How chubby people insist on drinking diet. The two are essentially unhealthy and inappropriate combinations but the two are by the stars alignment, are fitted together like puzzle pieces and seemingly perfect. Like i was saying, the free bowls of kids pho are what pretty much drove my car to this place. And the fact I am resistingly but willingly to acquiesce to my Hubbys restaurant requests. Like I said, i dont really crave pho on any given Tuesday, or Wednesday rather. I would much rather eat sushi Monday through Sunday. But, good things happen when I submitted today, God rewarded me, cuz whoa!! When i ordered the #14, beef stew, i was amazed!!! It is a bowl of beef meat and noodles that are actually the same beef from now nam chow fun. Of course i didnt say that right or spell that right cuz i ain't Chinese, but if you are, you know that meat is tender like newborn baby's skin and draws you like sunshine after a rainy day. The tidbits of bok choy & carrot gave it that speckle of healthy factor. But that didnt take away the full bodied flavor of the beef that tasted like it was simmering in 5 spice, cinnamon & bone broth for hours. The meat was plentiful. So much so that my 10 year old n i both shared a large & still had some meat n soup to take home. Thats a lot, cuz i am an oinker! The broth though is like the MackDaddy of the dish. Seriously. Its only been 9 hours since I've eaten it, its way past dinnertime and i wanna have some right now, the broth was that good. The broth really made the dish amazing. If you try anything on a first visit, try this dish if u like soup. I have also had the charbroiled chicken with rice, dipping sauce and a few veggies. This dish is really good. How the hexx they make it so flavorful i dont know. Good for kinda low carb days. Just dont eat the rice if you can summon up enough will power. Ive also had the soup with red broth i think its called bun Reu. Its okay but not The best i have had. Its decent. Cousin in law makes it amazing. What killed it for me was the chunks of blood i just couldn't get over. Yikes. Pigs blood Filipino soup i can eat. But chunks of it? Like in your face? Ugh...i know it dont make sense. But thats life. The service itself was good up until the food was set on the table. After that, i had to get up to ask for that extra bowl i asked for. And then i had to get up again to ask for a soup spoon. And im pretty sure we had to get up to ask to order coconut smoothies, which tasted good but also tasted like bottled flavored coconut syrup and ice blended in a Bullet. I was hoping by seeing the well thought out bamboo decor, the murals, the stone lions guarding the entry, the Venetianish water fountain, that the coconut drink would taste like real coconuts were taken down from a tree by a hunky Hawaiian man in a loin cloth & blended up with cane sugar. But it didn't. I also got up to ask for the bill. The ladies at the register were decent, but forgettable. In summary, the 4 stars are for the #14 beef stew dish alone. And their charbroiled chicken dish. Mediocre service gets a lost star. I am drawn to try more on their vast menu. The end.

Came with a party of 5 took about 5 mins to seat us. And about another 20 mins to take our orders. The waiters were serving people who sat down after us. Which was really dicky. We had to flag someone down. Everyone in our party was irritated and it ruined our appetites. Pho was alright. I've definitely had better. This is a terrible spot. I won't be returning! And you probably shouldn't either if you wanna leave happy. I'd gladly drive into south sac rather then deal with their sub par service.

I come to Pho Lotus often mostly because it's close to home. I like Vietnamese food but I don't think this is the best place. There are other restaurants I would go to more often if they were closer. The customer service here is mediocre, sometimes they're nice to me and sometimes they're not. I often find myself frustrated and waiting for service here. Other times they are quick , efficient and friendly. They could definitely benefit from some consistency. The food is good. The pho servings are pretty small and slightly more expensive compared to other local Vietnamese restaurants. I've tried different appetizers and dishes here and most I've enjoyed. I'll be back again and hope the service becomes more consistent.

What a friggen joke this place is! We haven't been back here for 6 years and it's still lousy but they give even LESS portion!! When a NAPKIN is about the same size as the plate that's SAD! Then the shrimp is smaller than the spoon! Look at the photos! There is NO VALUE HERE whatsoever! Now we have to go get something to eat!

Their jackfruit shake is awesome ! I have yet to find a place that compares. I love how they open late on the weekends .Their server, Phu is very friendly and is so easy to strike up a conversation with . I highly recommend the vermicelli dishes with the barbecued meat selections. When I'm craving soup, I usually get the chicken pho with egg noodles , bok choy, and wontons. It's great :)

I love coming to Pho Lotus. I first started eating Pho 20 years ago with my Vietnamese friends in LA. The food is absolutely delicious here and rivals what I get in LA. I love coming here because the food is great and the staff takes good care to keep the place clean. I really love the combination of friendly staff, clean restaurant and delicious food. I recommend the number 9 and 69.

I like how this place closes at one. The only other pho place that closes late is saigon but that's a bit too far from Elk Grove. The pho here is more pricey than the other locations but it tastes decent. Not too bad. However, the service here sucks. They only came to take our orders and that's it. Not even to refill our drinks. When we looked for the waiters, they were playing card games at a table by the counter and texting. No tips were left.

Every time we have come here, we have received good food and good service from the staff. Since it is in our neighborhood, we come fairly frequent for dine in or to go meals. It is always the same quality. Their rice plates are good as well and you can have them add a fried egg is you wish.

Fast and clean. The broth is not as fatty as other joints. Which I like. You are not thirsty for water 30 minutes later.

Hu Tieu Lotus Kho The Lotus Special with Clear Noodles, shrimp, real crab, squid, fish ball, fried shrimp-chip & Our Special tomato-pork-crab sauce! SERVED DRY (Soup on the Side) ^pretty good. [: I kind of didn't like the smell coming in the restaurant, it's not too bad, pretty good. Would eat it again.

Sat there 10mins. .. no body came to serve us. The servers were all ignoring us... restaurant was not even busy... took my business across the way to PHO#1... Got served right away.

So I have been a consistent customer of this place for at least the last 5 years. I go through cycles where all I want is a #57! That being said, the food sometimes slips in quality. The service however is the sticking point. There are a couple of great waiters that work here, but for the most part you are getting a 20-something that either mostly ignores you or is semi-hostile. My suggestion is to not order fountain drinks. Refills very rarely come. Stick to water, and be happy with what you get. That being said, I truly crave that #57 and at least two of my kids had most of their in utero nourishment provided by that dish. I will continue to be a customer and just hope I get one of my favorite wait staff while there.

Pho Lotus has been my go-to pho place since I moved to Elk Grove. It's super close to my house and the broth has good flavor. But after consistently receiving horrible service - slow and bad attitudes - I will be driving further to get my pho fix. Last night was the last straw. The restaurant was only about half full. Some of the waiters were even sitting at an empty table just staring at the clock. Yet somehow it took 10 minutes for anyone to even come to our table to take our order. Once they did, our pho came out in less than 5minutes. But it was 20 minutes from the time we sat down before we received our drinks and we had to ask 3 times for them! We were never checked on by any wait staff. Honestly, there have been so many times I've been there and this has been the case. With the lack of attention and care it would be more than easy to walk out without paying. No one would ever notice...or even care. Yeah, the food is good, but the service is much better at other places.

Great yummy food, great quantity, fresh ingredients. The decorations are nice and the place is clean. Prices are reasonable as well! Pho is flavorful and delicious!

Place is okay. The pho isn't that amazing compared to some other places. This is about my second choice in Elk Grove to go to. The broth for me isn't flavorful enough. Thai Tea was good. Service is great too. Try the shrimp and pork spring rolls with their peanut sauce. Its good. The spicy beef soup is actually the better soups from Pho Lotus. Absolutely delicious. Get that with pho noodles and add more peppers. Its ammmmmazing. They are open late. I would check out their hours though because they used to be open til 1 am but it's only on certain days now. Go

I love this restaurant. Usually I am a bit hesitant to try Vietnameese food due to a bad experience at another place located on Arden that shall remain nameless. Pho. Lotus is in my neighborhood, very clean, friendly and family run, reasonable prices and best of very flavorful food. We usually get the pho.or the #69 which is basically chow mien vietnamese style. I also love the grilled pork and shrimp combination with jasmine rice and salad. Always enough to share and enjoy for two. Today the owner gave me a sample of the avocado shake which is seriously sweet and yummy but not on my diet after an hour and half work out at the gym. If you reside in Elk Grove give them a try, you will probably agree.

I have been here plenty of times and their pho is undisputedly the best in Elk Grove area. What made me write this comment is the number of people who say they would rather eat at Pho Viet Hoa off Laguna... I have had pho there at least a dozen times and have it take away a dozen more JUST BECAUSE it is so close to my house. But every single time Pho Viet Hoa disappointed me with bland tasting soup and super little portion of beef that comes with it, and every time I would ask myself why would I keep going there. It is rather mind boggling how people could prefer Pho Viet Hoa to Lotus, honestly.

    (5)
  • Dio A.

It's just okay. I prefer Viet Hoa on Laguna and Franklin. I had the seafood egg noodle soup, and it tasted pretty bland to me. I came here because they're open until 1 am on Friday and Saturday, that's why the 3 stars.

FIRST OF ALL. Bring your own AC. If you don't have a portable AC. I advise GET ONE. It is super hot in here. We wanted to move outside and she goes "are you sure? It's very hot out there. And when the food comes out flies will come." Then she comes and tries to take our order in her broken English. WE ARE AN ASIAN FAMILY. WE WALKED IN SPEAKING VIETNAMESE. She was just all over the place. The pho: Broth is very sweet. Chicken Chow fun: It came out looking steaming hot but it was kind of cold. Which is very odd considering how hot it is in here. Egg rolls: 4 small eggrolls for 7 dollars. EXPENSIVE. Taste was lacking flavor. A lot of flavor. Shrimp chow fun: Came out hot but it was lacking a bit of flavor as well. Number 51 rice plate: My grandpa thought it was pretty good. Meat wasn't very big though. Bun cha gio thit nuong: After my aunt put in about 2 tablespoons of sirachi and almost the whole jar of pickled jalapeños its alright. I wouldn't come here again.. Sadly. The EXIT was nice. Good breeze.

Wish I could give less than one star. We pull up to this place at 8:15, walk in the door behind an older lady who was picking up a ToGo order and three employees sitting at a table turn and look at us roll their eyes to the clock on the wall as if we're an inconvenience since the place closes at 9. One guy lethargically gets up and asks the woman if she called in Togo, and she did. The second guy gets up and grabs one menu and says to me and my boyfriend "Would you like to order something Togo?" I said "No, we'd like 2 for here" he says "I'm sorry, we're..." He stutters. "Not closing for 40 more minutes, right?" I finish for him. He then turns around and asks the first gentleman to which he responded without even lifting his head "No." These people obviously only care about closing up early and making no money. Heard good things about this place and it would have been our first time here. What a terrible first impression. I'll be passing on the bad experience to all my friends and family in Elk Grove area.

WHAT happened to this place? The 1st several years Pho Lotus was open they were real good! Notice that they were the Best of Elk Grove in 2011 but not since then. I've been looking for the Pho restaurant I initially liked so I've been eating here hoping for a change for the better... That hasn't happened after many chances and I'm sad to say that I need to find another local Pho restaurant. The food taste sub-standard. The spring roll meat tastes old, the amount of meat on the plate is small, only the beef pho taste ok, and the servers are forced family workers who don't want to work there (this is obvious by the clicking of their pens rushing their customers to order and the rolling of their eyes). When they hire qualified workers and the food becomes better, I might come back.

    (2)
  • Justin S.

This place was just okay. I thought the food was average. I eat quite a bit of Vietnamese food and nothing really stood out to me.

Finally a pho restaurant that gives adequate portions at a fair price. A very traditional vibe, as expected with most pho restaurants, it has an even more chill environment because of the lush plant life littered across the establishment. The food taste great so there are no complaints there. The broth is excellent and the noodles didn't stick to each other (which is annoying). The bean sprouts, lime wedges, jalapeños, and mint came out very fresh looking and smelling. But what really sets this place apart is the very nice size Thai teas they serve. At other places I always feel like I payed way too much for the serving I receive. Although my boba was stuck at the end of my straw in a formation that looks a lot like frogs eggs, I'm sure that's not a regular occurrence. All in all I recommend this place if you're looking for your pho fix.

Instead of ordering the usual...Pho, I decided to venture out of being predictable and ordered Lemongrass Chicken. It reminded me a bit of Mongolian Beef --and I am a fan. I definitely would order this again, and even try other dishes on the menu next time.

This was our first Vietnamese go round; we decided to give it a try a few years ago. Today we logged onto Yelp and were considering trying another Pho restaurant in Elk Grove, especially after reading the reviews of being ignored or people talking amongst each other instead of helping their customers. We decided to go to Pho Lotus anyway and today we picked up an order of Pho and charbroiled chicken w/vermicelli to go. I was beginning to doubt this place after my boyfriend had to interrupt three workers conversing and let them know he was there to pick up his food. That part I would give zero to one stars. But again, the food we picked up was delicious. We will definitely be back, however if their customer service doesn't improve we may consider trying other options.

  • Kasie W.

This Pho Lotus location has NEVER let me down! Their menu is the same as I'm sure many, many other Pho places are. . . but their prices are terrific, their portion sizes are MORE than enough, their vegetables are always fresh, their hot sauce is HOT, the service is friendy and fast, and it's never too cluttered in there. Aside from all of the above, I sure do love the fact that Pho Lotus is so close to work!

The next time you run someone's card for $300 instead of $30 you might want to tell them right then and there instead of refunding it then charging for the correct amount and acting like nothing happened... Never coming here again. Ridiculous.

My favorite place in EG for pho. I always get their Chicken Noodle Soup (chicken broth, not beef). Very good when you're sick. And they offer take out, which is nice. Pros: Chicken broth is great in my opinion Filling and priced well Good staff Cons: Chicken is white meat only, and I think they cook it separate and then add to the soup, so it's a bit dry When ordering take out, always double check the order. I've had to go back 80% of the times I haven't double checked because the order is wrong when I get home :( Overall, the best pho in the area, although I have yet to try the one's on Stockton Blvd every keeps talking about!

This place isn't too bad. I've been here plenty of times with my boyfriend. The workers are pretty fast with your food. The quality of the food could be better. As for my taste, I don't like the texture of their noodles. Maybe it wasn't cooked well enough. Their broth is just okay. I've eaten at other pho places. I mainly like like restaurant because they open late on weekends. It's hard to find a good place to eat late at night. I enjoy their egg roll and fried shrimp appetizers. Those were delicious. I would come back but it's not one of my favorite places.

I heard from the newspaper a long time ago that this place was good. I ordered some kind of pho I forgot what. The broth is......amazing! No I'm just kidding. The broth is kind of gross. I really did not like the flavor of it. My meat wasn't cooked all the way and I got an upset stomach after an hour because they tried to make my pho tasty with MSG. Also thanks for filling my bowl with tasteless noodles. I give one star because the place is nicely decorated, but overall the pho tasted like nothing.

The owner Is very accommodating and very nice. Food is really good. I loved the Thai ice tea with boba. I ordered number 71 and I usually expect it to be served in a bowl but they served it in a plate and I like it better.

Love this place. Both service and food is always great. Rare beef pho - love. Egg rolls are the best. love the chow mein. all grilled meat dishes are really good. Great vietnamese milkshakes. Honestly, I havent had a dish here that I didnt like. Great prices and quality food. Always a solid place to eat.

  • Dylan N.

Been here a few times and have loved it! Certainly not the best Vietnamese food I've ever had, but definitely good for the price. I haven't actually had the pho here yet, but I've ordered a lemongrass chicken dish a couple times that has been excellent. I would recommend it if you enjoy spicy food. The service is usually very responsive and I will definitely continue to eat at Pho Lotus. It's definitely one of the best Viet places in Elk Grove that I've found.

They have delicious seafood pho here with squid, real crab claw (just one though) and shrimp. Great soup for a cold day! I love coming here. Its comfortable inside and the staff is very nice.

  • David S.

As a longtime fan of pho, the customer service is okay but the pho here is pretty good. South Sacramento has the best pho in town but Pho Lotus can equally serve as a substitute as there are a lot of sauces and the broth is delicious. I haven't tried any rice plates yet so I can't comment on them. Otherwise, I would definitely come back here and recommend friends to.

Service -- waited 20 minutes just for someone to take our order ... Was about to leave ... But we had two hungry kids with us . Waited another 10 minutes just to get something to drink. Food -- got the beef stew ... Nothing but pieces of fat ... Maybe two pieces of edible beef . I also got the strawberry shake with boba ... Tasted watered down with overcooked boba . There are much better pho places in the neighborhood !!

Order pho ga.(chicken).... The water was clear as water....the flavor was not all there.... Also ate rice plate with shrimp egg roll and grilled pork.... The meat was marinated really good ... The only thing is I feel the fish sauce was more on the bland side....over all service was great and fast ....will I come back maybe not but if I do it would not be fir the pho

I am picky about my pho restaurants. I grew up in San Jose and my mom is knows how to cook up a pot of pho. In Elk Grove, your choices for pho are very limited. It is not a matter of where the best pho place in Elk Grove is, but where are the nasty ones. Elk Groves has more of those than good ones. This narrows the choices down for me. Pho Lotus is a decent pho place in competition with borderline instant pho restaurants. This place is always clean and they have a nice décor. The LCD TVs are a nice touch and convenient to watch sports. Staffs are always friendly and speak both Vietnamese and English. If you are looking for an affordable and good meal, Pho Lotus is a decent choice. You can choose from pho, rice plates, noodle plates, and even order family style (order ale cart and everyone share). I normally order the Pho Dac Biet (Special). It has everything that I like and the broth is not bad. I give this place 3 stars. It is not the best pho I ever had, but if you are in Elk Grove, it better to eat here than at their disgusting competitors. Enjoy.

very watered down pho soups. No matter how much sauces and condiments I add to the soups to enhance the taste it still tastes like water and rice noodle. We won't be coming here again.

Came last night after both of my chef in training friends wanted some Pho, we arrived at 10:30-ish and the place was near empty except a few groups, so it was perfect timing in my eyes. For someone who is new to Vietnamese food, I thought the food was fantastic. I had the #34, the pork was cooked just right and the rice was great. My chef friends couldn't help but to critique the presentation of it, but I didn't give a flying fuck as long as it was good; no harm, no foul. I definitely will be back.

We've been coming here past couple of years and the food is good BUT THE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!!!!!! The service has steadily declined over the past year to the point where it's unbearable and we will no longer come here. Walk in sit down then wait for 15 minutes for some one to take a drink order or any order. Then when you do order the English is not very good and it's a crap shoot if it's correct. If the service turns around well be back but if you go here be prepared for a wait

The food is good but this place has only 2 vegetarian dishes to choose from, rice or noodle dish. I ordered the rice and vegies...tasty and good size. I would give 4 stars except for the limited choices. Great service! The Viet coffee is very good.

  • Kim T.

Pho is decent. Service is decent. It's close to our house so we go there. It's nothing like Pho on Stockton Blvd but it does its job. If you live in the area, there's this Elk Grove calender that comes in the mail every year. Inside you will find coupons for local businesses. Pho Lotus has a coupon in each page of the month that is usually good til the end of the year. The coupons ranges from free spring roll, 10% off guest check or $5 off $25 purchase.

Ever since I was introduced to this place, me and my wife returned over and over. It has become our default place to eat Vietnamese restaurant in the Elk Grove area. Its definitely tasty, clean, and the staff is friendly. The pho is great and even their non-noodle soups items are also good. What's more is their open late!

I agreed with one of the customers. When this place first open, the pho was great, the meat was generous, and now, the pho has barely any meat and the broth is not as good. I used to go here for pho when I have a craving for it but not anymore.

I was craving seafood rice noodle soup this evening, so my 10 year old niece suggested we go to Pho Lotus. It's much closer than the pho restaurants I typically visit on Stockton Blvd, so I agreed on Pho Lotus. The restaurant was nicely decorated and there were two servers working. We were attended to quickly. I ordered one spring roll and we each ordered small seafood rice noodle soups. The food came out quickly. A MAJOR bummer was that our server spilled hot broth on my arm as she was setting my niece's bowl down on the table. I'm not talking a few drops, it was a tiny stream. I felt bad for how embarrassed the server was and assured her I was okay (it stung a little, but it was nothing to create drama over). After she set my bowl down, she brought me a glass of ice which was nice. The spring roll was a spring roll...they all taste the same to me. The soup was good. I like to put fish sauce in my soup and there was none on the table (as there usually is at pho restaurants), so I had to ask the server for it. There were plenty of noodles in the soup (especially for being a "small" bowl). When we finished eating, I got the bill. I was hoping that my $2.50 spring roll or my niece's $2.25 soda would've been comped given the hot broth spill on my arm, but they weren't. I left a $2 on a $20 bill, along with a note explaining why I didn't tip more. I hate being a bitch, but I used to be a server as well as a restaurant manager and what they did was just bad for business. My niece is bummed that I will no longer give my business to Pho Lotus, but I explained to her that there are so many pho restaurants in the area (including one across the street--Pho 1) I'd rather give an opportunity to win me over. I would've given this place 3 stars, as it didn't stand out to me as much as some of the other pho restaurants in the area have. Unfortunately, I took one star away due to the poor service regarding the accident.

I tried several PHO restaurants but I'm no other PHO restaurant has swept me off my feet except this place. Chicken Pho # 18 is pretty good. That's my favorite item. And my bf orders the mixed Pho with beef. He doesn't love chicken because he thinks beef one is better. The broth and noodles are great. I heard they cook the broth overnight because it takes several hours. I tried fried rice and chicken stir fry from their menu. Oh they are simply disgusting. I only recommend PHO at the restaurant.

This is one of the better Vietnamese restaurants within a short distance from my house so it is one of my family's go-to places. But ever since I got a bowl of luck warm pho with cold, undercooked beef tendon 2 years ago, I haven't been back. After a morning of shopping with my mom, she said she was in the mood for some pho. Since I would do anything for the woman, I drove the car & parked it right up @ the front door here, ready for the worst. I got a Pho ga (chicken) which - thank goodness - was hot. There was very little chicken & I could tell right away that the meat was sliced from a chicken breast because it was dry & chewy. I guess I have been spoiled by the skin-on chicken thigh in my pho in SF. The service is quick & adequate but it is a long way from friendly. What I did like a lot was that the menu offered a "small" size in addition to the usual "regular" and "large".

As far as vietnamese restaurants go this place isn't bad. As far as locations go, this place is located right in Elk Grove in a fairly sizable parking lot. So location and parking definitely is not an issue. A very good perk of this location is that it is open late. On a Friday or Saturday night after a long movie or some time at a bar, this place will definitely help satiate that late night pho craving. The service at this place was decent. There were times where the staff needed to be reminded or re-told what our orders or requests were. In addition, there wasn't too much attention paid to our drinks to make sure they were adequately filled. Not too much of an issue otherwise I would have given them less stars. Witht the food, I found their vermicelli noodle and rice dishes to be decent. They are priced just slightly higher than some of the other vietnamese places located in the same vicinity. I normally wouldn't have a problem with this if the portions were a bit bigger or something different was done with the dish. This is not the case. The food is fine and tastes authentic enough but it definitely doesn't jump out at me. So overall, if you're in the area (meaning the same parking lot) and craving decent vietnamese food AND you dont happen to be closer to certain other vietnamese restaurants down or up the road... then I'm sure this place will do.

OK I have to say something about this place because I get irritated when any old Vietnamese family thinks they can just open a Pho place because they know a recipe (that you can get anywhere BTW). It's making a mockery of the Pho taste by passing this peppery, bland broth off as "PHO." First off if you're looking to try anything else then to be honest I haven't tried anything else but pho - "dac biet" (or special). My goal was to try their namesake and I was disappointed to say the lease. Like I eluded to earlier the broth was not complex at all it was beef flavored with an abundant of black pepper. Those were the two dominant tastes... that's it? Commmmee ooonnnn?!?! Pho's supposed to have your mouth bouncing all over the place trying to grab all the spices at different times, not this one tone crap. Also, what the heck with the cilantro people? It doesn't belong on the veg plate with Pho! My guess is that they didn't want to give adequate Thai basil and instead fluffed the plate up with another (cheaper) green. And lastly and probably most important to the men reading this is "how big's there bowls?" and you'll be disappointed there too.... They only have the Large for the price of other place's X-Large ($7.50 or $7.75, some'n like that). Bottom line... it's a neighborhood stop-off, some'n on the go and definitely not a "destination" for anyone who wants the real taste of PHO. They might make a mean egg role or some'n but then they should call it Egg role Lotus instead of Pho Lotus.

This place is good. It's decent in all aspects. There's nothing special that pops out. It's an average pho place if you don't feel like driving down to stockton blvd for the more authentic stuff. The service is good but they lack in refilling waters. They occasionally have coupons that come in the Laguna neighborhood ads in the mail so there are opportunities of discounts. I have only tried their pho selections and they are all good. Just an okay place for me but I do enjoy that they open late on Fri and Sat.

No complaints. I don't personally see what people are rating this place so low. Service was a bit slow but whatever.

Overall the food and service is pretty much a standard Vietnamese restaurant. I do like the fact they open early and close pretty late.

I give it one star because the service was nonexistent. They had 4 people at the front counter and it took forever for them to seat us even though there was plenty of seating. There was a total of three parties in the room. When we finally got seated at a table. We waited a while to place our order. The servers were standing around chatting. We finally had to ask them to order. After that they did not even bring us water. I had to go up to the front counter to ask for water. Also there was this cute old lady and I believer her son sitting with her. They had been sitting there since we had came in waiting for the check. I can't imagine how long that must have been, so I made a comment to the waitress that they had been waiting for their check for a long time. Only then did they get them their check. I ordered Beef Chow Fun, which was blah. Meat was tough and dish overall lacked flavor. Vietnamese Iced Coffee was good, but it's hard to mess that up. Pho was just okay, but on the plus side they give you a lot of meat. Safe to say if you do go to this place, order the food to go. I don't like getting pho to go though, so it's probably safe to say that I will not be back.

Food: D- Why? This is not a real Vietnamese Restaurant, if it is it'll the bomb in Elk Grove, Cali! lol! I have better Pho noodle soup in my entire life! The key to have a great soup is the "Broth" !!!!! No question ask??? The meat they use is way too cheap as well! And maybe the owner of this restaurant is cheap! Why? the meat they use is old! And funky! Our 1st time to eat here, and we're not happy at all! Funny, cuz, this place got it's own potential of a be back customer! But they're just killing it! For them, not to go back!!! Vietnamese dishes is pretty easy, you got a rocking broth your in! And all the veggies, are easy to acquire! The spot of where this location is great! But sadly to say, that they are not using that as a tool to have a gold mine!!! They need to change their kitchen chef's! lol We had ordered a chicken soup! IT WAS RETURNED ! THE CHICKEN WAS OLD! Mine, I had ordered the pho gan nam, their famous beef broth, broth was A okay, not too great! like I said I had better ones! and the meat was not rare !! they're kind'a old!! by the time they serve the meat is already soaking in your broth! Real vietnamese restaurant , they serve your meat fresh!!! in a plate, while you put em in the broth!!! sorry guys!!

I do not recommend this place. We arrived @836pm and the server told us they're closing and wanted to turn us away. So we told him we just want pho. Only then did he say ok. We were hungry and ordered the large for 8.25 and asked for extra basil. After the bowls came out, we asked where's the basil, let alone the extra basil, and only then were we told they are out. It happened the last time we were here. They seem to be always out of basil. For a large, there was not much meat and tendon. The only thing large was the bowl. This is the only pho place that skimps on the herbs and meat. The server told us to complain to the owner. Will never come back again.

In my opinion best pho around. For sure! It taste amazing when you eat there. The waitresses or waiters are super nice. :)

The Pho here is consistently very good! The portions are huge, the spring rolls are fresh and delicious and this has become my go-to spot for Pho. The location works for me when I am visiting family and friends and the service has always been helpful and friendly.

This place used to be very good but now the food quality is getting worst. I ordered Bun bo hue which is the Vietnamese spicy beef noodle. The broth does not have lemongrass smell and noodle was old and meat and vegetable was from Pho. I think they should remove this dish from their menu or have to make it right.

Worst pho I have ever eaten, and I have tried a lot. (Maybe there's some pretty nasty ones down on Stockton BLVD, but I don't know since I don't really trust them to begin with.) Their broth tastes so strange to me, so I don't know why some of my buddies wanted to come here so often before Pho Le opened (a much better place in my honest opinion). I dislike their 3-colored drink as it lacks flavor to me. Their bun thit nuong is okay, better tasting than their pho. Bun bo hue was flavorless, and the blood was very dry. I preferred this over the pho at least since I can add salt. Service can be pretty bad. Most of the time, the waiter is rude and doesn't come to our table to refill our drinks. Once in a while, we get a friendly waiter/waitress. The only thing I like about the place is how it looks. I have no reason to ever return here now that Pho Le is open. Just... just no. NO.

The Verdict: "Just ok." Stopped by for some Vietnamese food with my family and bf. We were quickly seated and our ordered taken. I ordered the shrimp and pork bun (white vermicelli noodles and vegetables), my bf ordered a won ton soup. As we waited for our food, I noticed that the place was well organized and modern looking with samplings of Vietnamese and Andy Lau songs playing in the background. When my food came, it was just okay tasting, not too exciting but filled the empty void in my stomach. I did enjoy the not-to-overly greasy egg rolls. My sister who ordered the same thing as me found that the grilled pork she had was all fatty meat. And my bf said his soup was bland and the wontons lacked flavor. When my sister let the wait staff know about the overly fatty meat, the owner personally came out and gave her a new dish of grilled pork and apologized for the inconvenience. Their customer service is good, no doubt about that...but sadly to say the food was not so great. Would I Recommend It? Probably not.

This place is okay. My friend recommended this place so i wasn't bias or anything. The broth is decent and has a minty taste from my memory. The decor is okay and the service was good. Seating was quick and easy. The menu was easily read and the tables weren't nasty :P. I ordered pho like i normally do. I wasn't wow, but i was pleased. I would recommend coming here if you aren't willing to wait or if you just want to eat. :D Pros: Fast, Service, Parking Cons: Decent (not unique). Stars: 3 Flat

54 and 5. Decent. I came in with an open mind. I didn't want to get adventurous that day and end up with a tummy ache. The pho was spicy. My dish was OK. Yeah, just OK. I still prefer my regular spot. It's unfortunate that what I ate didn't stand out as much as I was hoping for. Ambience was relaxed as if you were dining at home. They had a good selection of items.

Because of Yelp and because of what my mom told me about Pho Lotus, I wasn't too excited to be coming here. However, my friend insisted so off to Pho Lotus I went. When I saw the "Thank you for voting us #1 Viet Restaurant in Elk Grove", my hopes went up. As I entered, I noticed the nice decor, friendly and quick staff, and the option to dine outdoors. You rarely see that at a Vietnamese restaurant. As I was seated, I looked at the menu while waiting for the rest of my party to arrive. I like that they have a large selection; plenty of a la carte dishes and soups, vietnamese family style dinners, etc. Their pho is a bit pricey; $5.95 for a small and $6.95 for a large. I was disappointed they didn't have broken rice. Their vermicelli bowls range from $6.95-$7.95. I ordered the Bun Thit Nuong - Vermicelli with BBQ Pork (I COULDN'T HELP IT!!!) but was wondering if I should get the Vermicelli with BBQ Pork AND Shrimp. I decided not to since I was ordering dessert. Good thing I didn't! My girlfriend ordered it and she got 3 tiny pieces of shrimp for $1 more. The fish sauce looked really bland, I added chili and it didn't look any better but I just poured it into my bowl. The BBQ Pork wasn't tender and some pieces were overcooked. They didn't include bean sprouts or cucumbers in the veggies. Fortunately, my other friends ordered Pho so I grabbed some of their bean sprouts. I definitely will not be ordering that again at Pho Lotus. Something else I won't be ordering again is the dessert. I got the 3-colored-dessert, which comes with grass jelly, mung bean paste, sweet red and yellow beans, and some other stuff. Everything individually was good. But when they put it all together, it was really slimy and thick!!! That is not how Vietnamese dessert is supposed to be. They put a few pieces of ice at the very bottom so the dessert itself wasn't chill enough for me. I think 2 stars is a perfect rating for my experience at Pho Lotus. I've experienced better but it wasn't the worst experience ever. Food was still edible, staff was friendly, and ambiance was nice. Hopefully, I'll be able to update my review with more stars next time!

When you dont want to venture out to Stockton Blvd, and you want to stay local in the Grove and Viet food is on your mind, head on over to the Lotus. Great portion sizes, good food, clean, pretty much everything you look for in a Viet joint. Gotta knock off a star for sometimes shaky service and prices. I have no problems paying a bit more for my pho or my bun to stay local, but at least fill up my water glass and please be a bit more attentive to your customers. Steve Nguyen will be back. That's my story

Food is good except for the chicken on the pho. It is very rubbery so I just order without it. We took my (sometimes particular) mother in-law here once and she was impressed. Service, however, is lacking. Their mantra seems to be "seat people, get them their food, disappear." They seem to be "friendly" just to those who come here regularly or to the people they know. I'm not into a small chit chat but I like it when servers come by to ask how the food is or refill the water. Also, staff needs to be trained in taking phone order. They've messed up mine a few times. They do open early for lunch, which to me is a plus.

What do you crave when it's 49 degrees and raining? A bowl of noodle fucking soup! Stopped by the Golden 1 ATM and took out my last $20 to buy some medical marijuana for some psychosomatic afflicitions that I think I might have and I figured since I'm gonna get the munchies anyway, I might as well get my grub on. I can never make up my mind. Do I want rare steak? beef balls? fatty brisket? tripe? tendon? Ahhh, fuck it, I ordered the same thing I always order at a Pho place. I ordered a combination pho bowl with all of the above and an iced coffee with condensed milk. Solid brah, solid. Lots of meat and HUGE chunks of my personal favorite, tendon. Service was nondiscript, like always at an authentic asian restaurant. Cute asian girl around 18, no smile, no hello, no thank you. Man, I still got it, playing hard to get. I would've got her digits if she seen me roll up in my 89' Geo Metro with the brand new $199 Earl Scheib pearl white paint job. We could've barely fit in the backseat and made out.

Where do I start? Hmmm... First of all, when we arrived, we were not greeted right away. They took forever to seat us. When we finally got seated, they gave a menu. We waited a long time for someone to come back to our table and take our order, by that time they had already taken the order of people who came in five minutes after us. Also, when they gave us our water, I noticed fingerprints on the glass. I took a closer look and the dang glass had lipstick marks all on it! My family and I stood up and walked out the door. Lousy service to begin with so we should have known the whole experience was already gonna be crap! We never returned and also have told others not to go here!! It's not even worth 1 star, I don't care if I didn't eat there. Can't enjoy eating if the service sucks.

  • Selena O.

Food was terribly bland. The beef chow fun had no flavor and was overloaded with vegetables. The charbroiled pork chop serving size was for a child at most and was incredibly dry. I only gave two stars because the service was entirely hospitable and food was very fast. I wouldn't have minded waiting longer if it meant more effort was put into the taste and portion.

It's decent Vietnamese food at a decent price and close to where I live. I've only had the Pho here. I always order the #10 (rare lean steak) and add won ton. Thai Tea is good too. I like the fact that they are open late nights on Fri and Sat. Always clean and nice updated decor. Kudos for that.

If you're interested in decent pho, small portions (not meant in comparison to portion sizes in the 'American' sense) and extremely inadequate and poor service, by all means visit Pho Bogus. The occasion of my first (and last) visit was due to a local advertisement -complimentary appetizer with purchase of two entrees and a drink. Accompanied by my wife, we ordered our entrees with a drink. After presenting the coupon we were informed that it was necessary to purchase two drinks. We disagreed considering it differed from what was actually stated on the advertisement. Following some back-and-forth with our server, which consisted of her relaying what we said to a young man seated a few tables away; we were eventually presented with the appetizer -HALF of one, lonely, single spring roll! We were astonished to say the least and considered immediately leaving. However, we finished our lunch. Number 53 and 57 were decent, fresh (standard issue, nothing to exceed expectation); though left us desiring more as if something were missing (and not in the sense that our dish was shorted an ingredient(s) due to the appetizer situation). But needless to say as significant as first impressions are, we were repulsed. The owner/operator is clearly in the restaurant business strictly to operate a business. Providing its customers an adequate service/experience when visiting their establishment does not appear anywhere on the list -if they were to even have a list.

I have been here a few times and really liked everything I have tried so far. Obviously, they specialize in Pho, but their other dishes are great as well (personal favorite is the tofu chow fun!). The only negative I have is that every time I have gone I have had to ask for the check. I'm sure this may not be a big deal to some, but I'm all business and when I'm done-- I'm done. I want my check and I want to leave. It's not going to stop me from going, but it would be nice if they were a little more prompt.

The pho wasn't that great. I had the pho ga (chicken pho). The broth could have been more flavorful. The chicken was tasteless. I had a mango shake that was acceptable, although they put boba in when I asked for it without boba. Also, I'm really upset by the fact that there were so many flies I could barely keep them off my soup. It was really annoying and gross! Seriously, if you're the owner reading this, control the flies and make sure your broths are more flavorful!! The service could have been more attentive. I will say that they were very gracious about accepting my coupon.

A couple of friends and I recently went to Pho Lotus because we all love Asian Cuisine, but were unimpressed by our experience. The food was decent, and the prices were fair, but the service was terrible! We did not receive the drinks we ordered until we asked for them about a half and hour after ordering them. We didn't get a "sorry" or anything, our waitress was so cold and impersonal.

Just got the chance to try this place out in Elk Grove. It's actually the first place I know to get Pho in Elk Grove. First thing, I notice about this place is how nice and clean it is. This place is pretty clean compare to other asian restaurants and it's not too small either. However, the lighting is a bit dim. The service is not good at all. It took them awhile give us our water and order, I had to signal for them to come. Now, my review for the food. It's nothing special, personally, I would take any vietnamese restaurant on Stockton Blvd in South Sac over this place. The portions are small and dinky, and the service is verrry slow. The ingredients were fairly fresh, but it's way to expensive. It's expected since it's in Elk Grove, so lease is going to be high compare to other places. Overall, mediocre food, nothing dazzled me. Pros: Clean n good looking restaurant Cons: Expensive for vietnamese food, portions are small and dinky, bad service I would never come here again. I'll stick with the ones in Stockton blvd, preferably Hoa Viet or Saigon.

Went here recently with my dad just a bit after 5pm on a friday. Got seated promptly but like a second later the guy asked us if we're ready to order and we'd barely open our menus. So we said no and then asked for some water and then he asked again if we're ready to order. Wow, anyway so I ordered pho and my dad a vermicelli dish. His dish was completely filled with lettuce, barely any noodles and an ok amount of meat and other veggies. I got a small bowl of pho which was an ok amount but even at other joints a small was more fulfilling that the small here. The prices are decent, the service you have to be quite patient if you don't speak Vietnamese. But I rather go to Viet Hoa on Laguna Blvd if I'm staying in Elk Grove but I'd go somewhere on Stockton Blvd if you want something better.

Ok I've been a long-time yelp lurker and felt compelled to leave a review on this place. My girlfriend and I live in the area, and when we saw a pho placing coming to town, we were ecstatic. We love pho and always drive up to Pho Saigon on Stockton Blvd & Fruitridge just to get a good bowl. Sooo, we kept our eyes on this place, and were there on the grand opening. So here goes on opening day: the door sign says "please wait here to be seated" ... but there's no one seating anyone. We get seated after approaching the main counter. The waitress who asks us for drinks orders takes 15 minutes to return to get our food order. Then when we order, we see other tables (who got seated later, because no-one seated them...that sign thing again) get their food before us. So eventually, my girlfriend gets her food. Usually they come out the same time, but hey, it's opening day right? Wrong, my food comes out like 15-20 minutes later. No exaggeration, really 15-20. I mean, it was as-if I was in some bizarro world. Anyways, they were really apologetic, saying "some new hires didn't show." But I'm a forgiving guy, so I give them another chance right!?! So they can redeem themselves so I will write a good review right?!? Well, next week, like a moth to a flame, we went again. Still not impressed. The service was a tad bit better, faster, and zippier. Was the food any better? Not really. The prices are a bit on the high side, but that's expected with the location, and cost per sqft on these pads. Before eating here, I was stoked, because I was hoping that it was good, and we wouldn't have to drive to Pho Saigon anymore and save some money on gas. Wrong, big fat wrong. I would implore everyone, just to stay away, and go to Pho Saigon. Forget the money on gas, you'll enjoy the experience so much more. It's cheaper, tastier and faster. Yes it's kinda hoodish' but just don't go at night. That's my take on Pho Lotus. Might as well be called $lo Lotu$.

Place is nice for a viet restaurant... food was ok but not worth the extra dollar you would pay compared to other pho restaurants. If you want great viet food in Elk Grove, Viet Hoa off Laguna is still the place to visit.

I got take out Pho from here and the first thing i noticed was that it was missing tripe and the fatty/tendon pieces! I was pretty disappointed, but otherwise the food tasted like pho should. It is a little pricey. The restaurant looks pretty clean, but it was pretty new at the time that i went. I do like that its close to home since i live out in the boonies of Elk Grove.

Pho Lotus is without any doubt one of the cleanest restaurant around. The decorations of the place is fantastic, it sets the mood for eating with love ones. I've recommended this restaurant to few of my friends already and they too are satisfied with it. I'm not quite sure how all the foods are. but i have tried the pho, bo tai chanh, and fried eggrolls, all were really good. The service is excellent, never once have i got any bad visits. the price for pho is actually quite expensive compared to other restaurants around Stockton BLVD area but i guess since its in ELk Grove it has to be like that to be in business. This is the only pho restaurant with outdoor seating i've seen, it was very..interesting. So overall it is a good place to go and eat.

Okay so today my boyfriend and I went to have lunch and since we had stopped by the golden one right next to the place we decided to eat here. I heard from some friends that it isn't at great but I wanted to try it myself. The place is very the traditional scenary with the oriental look but it very nice and clean. The place is a little too pricey but you do get a good amount of food so it's worth it to me. My boyfriend had the large bowl of pho and that bowl was huge. I had a rice noodle with grilled pork and shrimp. It was delicious! It hadenough meat and shrimp so that was a good thing. Service was alright. Not to shabby of a place

The food was okay... so-so. Nothing to really complain or rave about. It was pretty expensive for pho noodles though. The service was awful. And that's why it got the 1 star. The waiter was RUDE, both times I've been there. I was hoping it would be better because the location was very convenient for me. The drive down to Stockton Blvd. is worth the hassle...

"meh, i've experienced better". thats perfect for this place. i think what may keep it alive and floating is that it is in laguna/elk grove where you won't find to many vietnamese restaurants. it was really packed in there when we stopped by and that was a tuesday evening. the service was relatively quick and attentive. it was a little weird when i order pho and they dont bring out the veggies and plate of extras until after i got my bowl. my dad ordered a rice plate that he seemed happy about. we also shared a order of chow fun. this was a horrible disappointment. it was very bland it needed more beef and noodles. it had to much veggies and probably some msg to make it better. my pho was alright. the broth was nothing special and was probably pretty new. i was able to add my usual ingredients to spice it just right but straight from the kitchen it was mediocre. if your in elk grove you don't have many choices for pho, but you might want to take the trek to stockton boulevard for some good food. i knew as soon as i walked in, it was to clean to be good haha

Not too bad since it's in the Elk Grove location. I love that they have 3 sizes for their pho: S, M, L. I generally get a M, but could easily finish a large if I was truly hungry and that's coming from a petite girl. They're also open very late on Friday and Saturday, which is a plus in my book. Their service is very quick if you order pho, usually sit around and wait less than 10 minutes after ordering. Service is also very good, they're always soo nice. It's awesome that they're next to kohls and trader joes, you can go shopping til your hungry and come here to eat afterwards.

My family and I used to eat here all the time when they first opened, but stopped. But today I finally called to get some pho Togo. The lady seems like she's In a rush, I ordered 4 pho, when I got there, they had one for me, so they said they will get three more pho Togo, which took them 30 mins. Never coming here ever again! I'll drive to Sac or visit pho #1 across the street! listen to your customers, don't rush them!

Sigh... Been here a few times and it didn't hit the spot. The last meal I had here was their Bun Bo Hue which is the Spicy Beef Noodle. The broth was fairly good but everything else wasn't. When ordering, I requested for meat only but when the noodle soup came out, I had a bunch of tendons. Hmmm... The decor is nice inside and service can be a little slow.

Been here a few times now. It's not the greatest of all Pho places, but it is very clean. if you need a quick fix for Pho and live in the Elk Grove area, give it a shot. I would say that it's the best Vietnamese place for not being off Stockton Blvd. Service has always been decent. I'm not sure if our last server was just overwhelmed by the party of 12, but he said.. "Let me repeat the orders back to you, to make sure I go it right, so I don't have to run back and forth."

One of the best restaurants in the Elk Grove area to get authentic and quality Vietnamese food. The place is relatively clean and organized. Service is okay and the servers are friendly. I come here often for the consistently good food and it's close location to where I live. I can certainly recommend if you are in the area and craving good Vietnamese food but probably wouldn't drive out of my way to go here if I was on the other side of town. There are comparable restaurants out there and nothing from this place makes it stand out from the rest other than it's convenient location and consistently decent food .

So....here's a story for you folks. I was at Beauty Chateau getting some hair products with my sister. We went up to the register to pay and my sister pointed out to the stack of Pho Lotus business cards. She mentioned, "Didn't you get bad service there?" To which I replied (in an assertive manner, "yeah, the food was not good and the service was terrible." Lo and Behold! The owner that rang us up....was the brother of the owner of Pho Lotus!! Was I scared, worried, shocked? HECK NO!! I stood by my statement. I'm a proud Vietnamese and I provided constructive criticism. Anyways, he gave me a coupon for a free dinner entree. Fast forward to 3 days later, I went there again and order Pho. Let's just say, I will not be going there again, even if it's for free. Sigh ::::shakes head::::: I am disappointed.

Open late on Friday and Saturday until 1am. Very friendly. Great place to take your kids. Food is traditional and tastes great.

I'm a little nervous Why? Well, my family frequents this generic pho spot quite often ( it's close to home) and I'm pretty paranoid with owners reading and remembering my review. Anyway, I've had a lot of food experiences from Pho Lotus so I think I can write a pretty thorough review. Service has been good for me in the past so no complaints there I'd recommend not getting the beef pho. Generally the broth is sweet but lacking in beef flavor completely. They serve smalls with a lot of noodles. Sounds like a plus, right? Nope, that's just the fatty inside you saying the more the better. The ratio of noodles to broth is pretty overwhelming and that pho tai will turn into a soggy mess. The first few times I made they mistake of eating everything and felt sick, but full. Most of thit nuong dishes are solid. Get the pork, sometimes they overcook the beef and overcooked food is.. pretty inedible, in my opinion. Rice plates aren't bad either.

A decent pho place in the suburbs? Yippy Kai-Yay! Their pho is actually not bad, I think you definitely should go in the morning time when it's still fresh. At night, not sure what's going on there. If I were hungry and wanted food at nighttime, I would definitely order the rice dish, with the sunny side up eggs, pork chops. YUMMMY, I also like their eggrolls. I customer service is ok, but hey, it's a Vietnamese restaurant, doesn't really surprise me. The pho is also ok, but the location.... i love, love, love. Price is a little expensive, but then again, I save money on gas since I wouldn't have to drive all the way to Stockton blvd. Food is fairly quick, so that makes me happy.

When I want the best pho, I go to Stockton Blvd. When I want the best pho in Elk Grove, I come to Pho Lotus. While a little pricier than other pho restaurants in the area, the dishes at Pho Lotus are decent. I usually get the beef pho, but I also love the chicken jook (rice porridge). The jook is very light and refreshing... something I feel like I could very easily make at home, actually, but that's okay. I still like ordering it here. I also like their version of the three-color bean drink. Ingredients include grass jelly and I think even boba pearls, so it's more like five or six-color bean drink, and while this may not be as authentic, I love it. Not too sweet and full of stuff! It's practically a meal in itself. Coupons are available from valpak.com ... Free spring roll, $5 off $25, or $10 off $45.

Did take out from Pho Lotus yesterday evening. 10 minutes from the time it was phoned in until I picked it up. Since it was take out, I can't comment on their service, but the food, #10 a large (rare steak lean), was delicious and it was ready quickly.

This place is clean and modern for a pho restaurant. There were two waitresses that serviced us that night. One was really good and the other was really bad. I guess they keep the balance in the force. I would eat here again.

I like this place. I discovered this place when I was going to the nail shop. This place is very clean, a double plus for me. No sticky tables or floor. Their food there was good too. It actually tasted fresh unlike some other Pho places. The manager was really cool too. You can also eat outside when the weather is nice. But only thing I am not a fan of is the services depending on which waiter or waitress that get. Some may be cool and some may just be plain rude.

With the few other pho restaurants in Elk Grove, this by far has been the best one that has opened. Probably because it's one of the more authentic pho restaurants you can find in Elk Grove. It's actually a pretty little place that's more reflective of the Vietnamese culture. The food is actually pretty decent. I have tried their pho tai and combo rice plate both which were pretty decent. I like the noodles a lot more than the rice plate. I prefer to go to this place more so than any other pho restaurants in Elk Grove.

My friend wanted some Vietnamese food when she was in the area so I took her here instead since south sac seemed too far of a drive for some viet food...service took a bit long even though it wasn't even super busy and food was decent. Tried the com ga nuong xa and some pho and they were both okay. My friend didn't like the com ga nuong xa, said it was too salty but I didn't think it was that bad. Prices are okay as well. I liked the Lotus-style creamy thai tea which was indeed creamy but a little too sweet. Overall, decent Vietnamese restaurant...glad EG is finally opening more Vietnamese restaurants so I don't have to drive all the way to southside for pho!

Small portions, over priced. Last time this place getting a dime from me. I rather spend my money at pho le on center park way.

The food is very good and the atmosphere is pleasant. They're open late on Friday nights which I like since I frequently travel to see my fiancé and usually need a place to get a healthy, affordable meal. The only downside is that the service tends to be a bit slow.

    (4)
  • Ashley R.

Im new to Pho. This was the 2nd place I've tried. It was good!! Good sized portions. The thing that sticks out in my mind is Friday and Saturday they are open until 1am!!! Awesome!! We were there until at least 1130.

For being located in Elk Grove, Pho Lotus is pretty good. Their decor is nice; it's always clean, and the staff is friendly. Prices are reasonable and service is quick. If you're in the area and want a bowl of rice noodle soup aka Pho, this is the place to go. I always order my pho with the thinly sliced meat on the side to avoid overcooking. When I asked for more thai basil, they gave me plenty.

  • Diana C.

i LOVE their ghirardelli chocolate shake w/boba. I know its weird to have that at a pho place but it really is good. I always have to have it when i go there. The food is really good and the service is excellent. The interior is really nice and you have an option to sit outside so if you go on a nice day you should enjoy your food outside. :)

I've been to a few Pho restuarants and I have to say I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here. The broth was very good and I left with one big belly! I had the beef and tendon the beef was a but tough but, the tendon was delicious. And it's pretty affordable, I definitely enjoyed my visit.

Compared to all the Vietnamese restaurants in Elk Grove, I like this one the best. I eat here at least once a week because it's in my neighborhood and the food is good. Although most of the staff attempts to be friendly, customer service is the one area they can really improve on. I do realize that there may be a communication or cultural barrier, but it would be nice to have quality service to go along with the quality food. Overall, if you're really craving good Vietnamese food in the area, I would highly recommend this place!

    (4)
  • Joe P.

Best pho' in Elk Grove for sure. Not as good as some 10 mins North but if you want to stay local this is a great option. We love eating here when it's cold outside.

THEE best Vietnamese spot in Elk Grove...hands down...by far.....w/o contest....unconditional....period. The pho, bun, and rice plates are on par with restaurants along Stockton Blvd in South Sac. The rice plates are the best thing on the menu. The pho is ok, not screaming good but ok. The bun is above average. Portions are good. Service is good (my mom knows the owners). I don't understand the negative reviews. -"Not my favorite" = ** wtf?!?!? write a review -"I'd rather eat at Viet Hoa" you gotta be kidding me...or yourself -"my stir fry rice" wtf you order stir fry rice for you foodie? This is a gem in Elk Grove. Everyone can agree that Elk Grove is NOT a gastronomical haven. If you can't make it to South Sac to satisfy a hankering for Viet food, hit up Pho Lotus, grab a rice plate, and be glad the over priced pizza joint that was there before closed down.

Another yummy, steamy bowl of Pho tonight!! The owners, Soyi & Robert, were there tonight. Granted they are my friends, but they are do fun and they breath so much life into that place. We love Pho Lotus!!! :)

  • Matthew C.

I started eating here when they first opened several years ago. I'm an avid pho-natic and was very happy to see pho popping up in the Elk Grove area. The service is okay, the decor is pretty nice, and they have a couple of TVs which has been nice when there are good sports games going. Initially, I thought their food was awesome, great portions, broth, noodles and a healthy serving of meat in my favorite, the pho tai nam. However, my last few visits have had overcooked noodles and mediocre broth at best. I feel bad giving them a 3 out of 5 but the quality just isn't there like it used to be. I'll still check back every once in a while but for the time being I'm looking around for another frequent spot.

i think i really hate this place but i only come here when i'm having extreme cravings for pho and this is the closest vietnamese restaurant near my work. its a nice, clean lil restaurant but i think they are super rude. not mean, but they just have no customer service whatsoever. they sit you down and then ignore you afterwards. they also give you dirty looks when you cant understand them when its them that cant speak/understand english. my pho is always warm and on the cooler side. its practically cold when im half way through it! not to mention, its not consistent! some days, it has flavor and other days, it tastes like noodles in plain water, NO LIE. portion sizes are small and a lil more expensive than their competitors but that's with all vietnamese restaurants in elk grove.

This is my go to place in Elk Grove. I love to sit outdoors when the whether permits. However there are always bugs because of the fountain and the foliage. Other than that this place is modern, good prices and overall a decent place for pho in comparison to the Bay Area. Sometimes it's difficult to communicate with some of the employees but it comes with the territory and at least they do a good job of trying.

I've had 2 visits to this place so far, and ordered the Large Pho w/ rare steak and brisket, with extra beef balls each time. I usually gauge a pho place by its most ordered dish, with the most common denominators. 1st visit: Very busy place, about 10 min wait for a table for 4, and horrendous service. This restaurant was a mess, staff looked overly taxed, and the employees that didn't look busy were pretty rude. Food came about 10 mins after ordering (it was quick relative to how busy they were) and had no mistakes with the orders. Although we had to ask 3x to have water refilled, food wasn't bad... I can't really comment to much on the food as the service overshadowed the experience. I figured it wouldn't be fair to rate the restaurant on this one bad experience, and I just remembered that the food wasn't bad. 2nd visit: We went to Pho Lotus around 5pm on a Wednesday hopefully to avoid any service impacting hungry-people frenzy. We were pleasantly surprised there was barely anyone there, and was seated immediately. I ordered the same bowl of pho, and this time I didn't have the distractions I had the first visit.... and to tell you the truth, I really enjoyed the meal. The pho broth wasn't oily and very light. The rare steak was OK as was the beef balls, but what separated this bowl from the rest was the brisket. It was slightly fatty and extremely tender, with a lot of flavor. Service was OK, but we still had to ask to have waters (that were sitting empty in excess of 10 mins) refilled, and the wait staff was talking loudly chillin in a booth of their own, but they were friendly. based on the first visit, I'd rate them 1 star. After the second visit, I gave them 2 additional stars. My personal rule of thumb: If you really want Pho in the area, and its one of those days/times you know Elk grove restaurants are going to be packed, I would suggest going to Viet Hoa on Laguna Blvd./Franklin Blvd. as they have always been consistent with me, and I'd give their Pho a solid 3 1/2 star, with great service, and they seem to always have open seats. If its a slow time of day or midweek noodles is what you need, then I'd go to Pho Lotus, as I'd rate their Pho at solid 4 stars, but their service sucks when their busy. If they stay consistent, I may have to comeback to this review and make adjustments, So I'll definitely be back

The vegetables were fresh, but the dipping sauce for my lettuce wraps didn't quite get the balance right of hot, sour, salty and sweet which I've come to appreciate through years of my mother's delicious Vietnamese cooking. In addition, the waitress we had delivered the wrong entrees to two of our table mates and included beef in another dish which was clearly requested with NO beef. The way she nodded and smiled at ANYTHING we asked suggested there may have been a language barrier, so the service was not on par. All my table mates enjoyed their food as much as they could...I was disappointed, however, since the restaurant proudly displays their banner for being voted onto the local "A List". Whether that means there are a dearth of Vietnamese restaurants or it's a statement about the tastes of the locals, I'm not sure...since I rarely pass through there I suppose I may never find out. It's passable, but make sure you are specific with your wait staff and check your entree when you get it to confirm whether you receive the correct dish.

One of my favorite spots in Elk Grove, Ca for Vietnamese food. This place has the soup that'll make you smile for joy. I usually order the Pho Dac Biet, Bun Bo Hue, Com Thit Nuong, or any type of pho. This would be my choice in Elk Grove, Ca for pho, but if you're looking for amazing.. there are other locations in Sacramento and even better ones in San Jose.

This is the worst bowl of pho I've ever eaten. I ordered the small pho ga. The noodles were undercooked so they still had some crunch to them, which is not good for pho noodles. There was very little broth, it was lukewarm and very salty. It tasted like there was a brick of salt in it. I could only eat five bites - it was so horrible.

EXCELLENT! OK...I have to admit, after reading the reviews, I was EXTREMELY hesitant to try this place. I'm a HUGE fan of Vietnamese food - afterall, I was practically raised on the stuff (grew up in San Jose, basically considered the Vietnam outside of Vietnam). Upon entering, I was greeted with a smile - rare in a typical Pho restaurant. Then I was seated, and realized, this isn't a typical Pho restaurant at all. The decor was nice, the floors were not sticky, and the place did not smell musty or like bleach. Oh, and the restrooms: THE CLEANEST VIETNAMESE RESTROOMS EVER! I was impressed so far. The menu was, what's the word...COMPREHENSIVE. I love traditional Vietnamese food, which is rare in this part of town. Canh Chua - Vietnamese sweet and sour soup, is my absolute favorite, and I was thrilled they offered it. I'm usually worried when ordering it, as it is often too sweet, or "americanized". I was pleasantly surprised when it came out VERY Vietnamese! Veggies and broth tasted fresh - major plus! My friend ordered the Cubed Beef (and I couldn't resist stealing a piece). Tender and very flavorful - but the tomato fried rice was a tad bland. The beef definitely complimented the rice. For drinks, we decided to order the Cafe Sua Da - Vietnamese Ice Coffee. Thankfully, it came out in the "dripper", which ensure's the coffee is fresh and potent - the way it should be (I am so very sick of all the Vietnamese restaurants that take the easy route and bring it out already prepared). It hit the spot...so I ordered another togo - needless to say, I was on a caffeine high for the next 6 hours. The breakdown: Pho Lotus was clean, the service was better than typical Pho restaurants, and the food was authentic. Prices? A little on the high end, but considering the vast menu and quality of the food, I would say it's reasonable. I definitely intend on a return visit, to try their Pho and rice plates, and, of course, that ice coffee!

I come here almost every other week with my folks who LOVE this place. I think it's decent and convenient because it's so close to my house. I usually order the combination pho (#14) and it's pretty filling and has a decent amount of meat (It could be a bit hotter though). Service is kinda iffy. All in all it's decent but not great. I prefer East West Cafe..

***my first yelp review...let the yelping begin** Let me just say that we love pho (even in the summertime ) and Pho Lotus definitely satisfies our pho cravings! The restaurant is clean and the service friendly and fast. Aside from the pho, we also liked their lemongrass chicken and their thai tea is the best (though next time I will ask for less ice). Located just minutes from our home, we're quickly becoming regulars here. Good food and location, can't ask for anything more... that's "pho sure"!

I wanted to try this place out since I had been driving by it often. I got take out for dinner. My first impression was the place was fairly clean. I downloaded the menu so that I could order ahead. The menu was thorough and easy to understand. I ordered the chicken over vermicelli, it was pretty good, not the best I've had but above average. My wife had the vegetarian rice plate. She thought it was pretty good. The spring rolls are pretty big and flavorful, but the peanut sauce was average if not below average. The staff was very friendly over the phone and when picked up my food. Overall Pho Lotus is serviceable but it is not a top of the rotation ace. I can't really say anything bad because my experience was very good. I just really love peanut sauce and this one did not hit the spot.

  • Eric W.

The place is a typical Pho place. Very fast with typical menu. Service is good, however calling in an order is tough sometimes if you don't have the menu #. Clean, fast, friendly, that's more than a lot of other Pho places have to offer.

  • Karen S.

Nice, clean place to go have some Pho. Went to dinner last night and had an OK experience. Nothing great but nothing to make me not want to go back. Kids bowls are free on Wednesday nights. That was a nice treat since we were out with the family and friends with small children. Food was good and they had a lot of meat in the soup. We will be back.

We tried this place because we received a coupon in the mail and I haven't found a good pho place in Elk Grove yet. Big mistake. The service was so friendly but the food...horrible. The broth in the pho was missing a few spices and all it tasted like was chicken broth, period. We also had the fried eggrolls and I swear, it did not taste like pork, it tasted like turkey stuffing instead. We also had the cubed filet steak over rice, the sauce was so salty, sweet, and not complimenting. Will not be back, ever.

  • Jenny H.

I went to the restaurant with my brothers on their first night open. The food was nothing special but still satisfactory. The prices, a bit expensive, but considering that it's the only pho joint in Elk Grove, it's worth it for the gas that you'd save on going to one of the better places in South Sac. It was a little hectic because it was their first night open and all the staff were new. The place was very clean, but I didn't really see anywhere beyond the front room. Staff was very friendly despite the fact that they seemed a little confused. I would definitely go to Pho Lotus again, if not for their food, then for their great location.

Well the experience was so-so. It took forever to get seated, but the atmosphere was nice. We ordered a vegetarian rice plate with tofu and some beef pho, both of which were good but the server forgot about our appitizer until we reminded him. Later when we were done and asked the server for our bill and a to-go box he gave us a sarcastic look.

I live close by and I get the pork and vermicelli plate with the mini egg rolls (not greasy, always crispy). I like the pork flavor and the sauce. I also like their ghiradelli chocolate shake. I also ordered a dish similar to beef chow fun (can't remember the name) and it tastes good, but it's a little bit on the garlicky side. Great to ward off vampires. Veggies in that dish are fresh. Wait-staff are good and friendly. I don't understand why people say it's terrible. I'd recommend this place. :)

I like how they open late on weekends because my boyfriend and I get random cravings during those times. I enjoy the bbq vermicelli but I've tried better. Same goes for the pho. I rather drive down to Stockton Blvd for a more authentic taste but the food at Pho Lotus isn't all that bad. The service is good and the lady at front is really friendly. I wish the spring rolls weren't so expensive :/ But I also like the ambiance of the place. Very clean and peaceful. The location is very convenient as well.

Service: pretty good service for cheap Vietnamese restaurants standards. Staff is very attentive. 1 out of 1 star. Food: I ordered the large pho dac biet (combo). There are a lot better pho restaurants in sac but this is one of the few in the Elk Grove area. 1 out of 2 stars. Price: a little on the pricy side for pho. The food does not justify the price. 0 out of 1 star. Wow factor: clean (which is rare) compared to other pho restaurants. 1 out of 1 star.

I crave pho almost every weekend and Living in Elk Grove kills my gas driving back and forth to south sac for a decent bowl of pho. anyways i wanted to try a pho restaurant out in EG so i decide to eat at pho lotus... the service was bad and the pho tasted horrid. the broth was watered down along with bad noodles and rubbery meat. never shall i eat here again.

I've been here a handful of times and had much better Vietmanese food elsewhere on Stockton Blvd. I came back here a couple times to see if I liked it any better but each time was a disappointment. The only reason why I would come here was because it was convenient and very close to my house. The atmosphere of this place isn't bad, however. The only complaint I have is the food and the service; the staff there were also not very friendly. I remember making a to-go order and it took more than 15 minutes to get my food once I arrived at the restaurant when it should have been ready by the time I got there since there were not many customers and the cashier guy was being pretty rude to me when I simply asked about my order. They probably have one of the worst Pho that I have had in the Sacramento area, not horrible but not very good either. I would save your money and go the extra distance to one of the Pho places on Stockton Blvd if you're looking for good food!!

This place is getting better. There beef noodle soup is almost compare to the pho restuarant in south sac. My only thing about this place is when you order to go I sometimes wonder is there anything in the box. Overall this place is good nice little restuarant.

Food isn't all that..but then again most pho restaurants tastes the same to me..I ordered beef cubes and was kinda hard. It had good flavors but wouldn't order it again. Restaurant is clean so I'm giving it an extra star.

I was in town to visit with family and was craving Pho because it was freezing outside! My brother recommended this place and I was so happy that he did! Restaurant is clean and the service was fast and friendly. The #5 eggrolls were meaty, flavorful and SOOOOO delicious. We also ordered the #4 BBQ Pork Spring Rolls and the #2 Shrimp Spring Rolls-the shrimp were good, but the BBQ Pork was divine! Also ordered a Small Beef Pho #11-Rare Steak & Flank; the broth was very flavorful the meat tender and tasty! Friends got the #18 Chicken Pho, Chicken Lo Mein, Chicken and Rice Plate and a Strawberry milkshake. We were all very full and happy when we left. Will definitely return on my next visit..I can't stop thinking about those delicious eggrolls! :)

  • Kay S.

I don't order the pho at all. However, because of the close vicinity to my family's home, I came back and ordered other surprisingly good dishes - combination chow fun, grilled pork rice dish, and crispy combination fried noodles. I still don't understand how the pho is THAT good to some people.

    (2)
  • Jenn S.

Clean and nicely decorated... My wonton noodle soup was hella salty. I wanted to drink lots of water and tea to clean my mouth! And their wrapper they used for their wontons was thick and just gross. I'd rather eat at Viet Hoa. Not as pretty in there, but good food...ALWAYS.

    (2)

Their Pho is okay, but their Bun Bo Hue is good! Although it's a bit pricey here due to lack of competition, this place is one of the better Vietnamese Restaruants in Elk Grove.

  • Wizzy W.

The atmosphere is soft and warm. The staff is pleasant. Many of them do have an accent though. The food is yummy and I feel like I'm eating something healthy when I eat here. They have two small T.V.'s hanging in the corners of the building. I really like the food here and enjoy coming.

  • Lynn N.

This was a much needed Vietnamese place for elk grove, but I was definitely disappointed the two times I tried it here. The broth is the pho barely had any flavor. There wasn't much pho noodle. The other time I had a BBQ pork rice plate. The BBQ beef was actually rolled with some kind of spice in the middle.

not good at all,,NOT AUTHENTIC vietnamese food,,i will have to say by far the worst in town. Their food is old as well I ordered a Com Thit Nuong rice plate and my meat was soo soured(old). Soo terrible and their pho is also watered down no beef smell or taste. I will never come again.

This place was voted vest Vietnamese rest on KCRA 3 I think. The owner must have made it all up to attract customers bc it should have been voted the worst viet restaraunt in sac. Pho is overpriced( you can get better at Saigon and irs cheaper) , drinks are overpriced, chicken curry was gross the meat was undercooked. I mean you would expect better quality food for it's price but...no. the only thing good i can say about this place? Waiters speak english, good service, excellent ambiance and very clean for an asian restaraunt

I used to like their Pho when they first opened, but came back a 1 month ago, I was very disappointed. The Pho was bland, the soup was not hot enough and they didn't even have basils! We were told they were out of season. I just saw them at Nuggets across the street! Not coming back.

  • Holly L.

The service is not always fast & friendly, but it is great food at reasonable prices (not the cheapest place to dine, sure). I've pretty much have eaten everything on the menu. The only thing that I didn't like was the Vietnamese hot & sour soup--very vinegary. If you're in a group, they do have some "prix fixe" selections that will easily feed two, and possibly three. The coconut milkshake/bubble drink is a yummy. If you're not sure that you want to eat pho, there are also some very good rice dishes. The small bowl is large enough for an average person's dinner. If you don't want to eat-in, you can call for take away.

Decent Pho for the area. Prices high for Pho.

For a Viet food restaurant this place is awesome! It's good the first people wrote reviews because I actually looked for those things and were unable to find them! For the people saying it's not worth the extra $ then they don't really want to go somewhere nice, quiet and relaxing. This place is worth the extra money because it's that much nicer! If you want a whole in the wall place to save money then go somewhere else. As for the Pho it was the best or atleast equal to the best that I've tasted, with the huge serving I love. Staff is very friendly. I LOVE this place and can't believe people are complaining about the prices when the place is so clean and nice...that's crazy, make sure you never go to Black Angus u would be scared of their prices!

Horrible food. I tried to like it but when i ate the egg rolls i tasted oil, not the food inside of the egg roll. Had the fresh roll and the wrap was very tough ended up focusing on trying to break down the wrap as opposed to tasting the shrimp and mint.

I do not usually bother with reviews of places I did not like. So why now? Well, frankly, I was really let down. I probably had too high of expectations from the looks of the place and my excitement over just finding it, and I did not check yelp before we ordered. We ordered take out, after long day of errands and headed home with our hungry tummies and hopeful thoughts. The food was so bland and tasteless that neither me nor my boyfriend ended up eating it. He had ordered the beef pho, and I had one of the very few vegetarian options. I tried to dress it up with stuff from my fridge and spice cabinets but it was rather unsaveable. Definitely felt like we wasted our money and next time I will do the drive to south sac no matter how tired I am.

Don't let the ambiance of this restaurant fool you. It looks pretty on the inside, but I would never eat here again. My order was taken in a prompt manner, but the service sucked. I tried flagging down a waiter or waitress and it seemed like they avoided eye contact with me as if I had the plague. I asked for a box and fail for the waiter not giving me a cup for the sauce to go with my charbroiled pork. The food was not excellent, just ordinary, so the same kind of food I'd rather get elsewhere. We paid in cash and did not feel guilty for neglecting to leave a tip.

We enjoy the Pho and rice dishes everytime we go. It's good for Elk Grove standards.

First of all the portion of the food are small and sometimes they will forget an ingredient or two in there. For example, my stir fry with rice was barely comparable to the size of my appetizer and it has no taste. (Salt was missing). The service is mediocre by any standard and the food is not as authentic as I would hoped for. If you want decent Vietnamese food, go to Stockton Blvd. in Sacramento. This the the place you would go when you are desperate for some Vietnamese flavor and don't want to drive for 20 minute away from Elk Grove.

one of the worst vietnamese restaurant to eat at in elk grove,,,,, please be aware that your rice plate with porkchop may be sour due to the fact that its old!! i came twice and both times really disappointed me and my family. the pho is pretty water down as well as their hu tiue noodle soup,,,, i usually dont review and rate restaurants unless they are really good or really really bad that makes u sick to the stomach awww puke!

'PHO' Sure 'The Best Vietnamese Restaurant in Sacramento' by KCRA3. They are always clean, fast, & delicious! Not sure what side of the bed the 'other' Yelpers fell out of, but my experience was 5 STARS! My mouth waters everytime I think about the yummy broth and spring rolls, not to mention my favorite cafe sua da! If you think service was slow or food is too expensive, then GO TO TACO BELL!!!

This was my first time eating pho. I loved it. I ordered it with extra veggies and it was so delicious that I can't wait to go back! The restaurant was clean and the server was friendly.

for pho, its only okay. take that extra ten minutes and drive to stockton blvd. it's worth it!!! on a side note: we once ordered one of the more expensive things on the menu, it was the "new york sprip" stirfried with stuffs for like $12 bucks or something. on the menu, it stated that there was supposed to have onions in it.(we love our sauteed onions). so anyway, when it arrived, there were no onions on the plate. we asked them about that and the best they could come up with was to bring just raw chopped onions on the side...... terrible. best of....my ASS!

Came here with the boyfriend on a rainy Monday morning. The food is okay, nothing special. I didn't like the broth of the pho unfortunately. The spring roll and Thai tea was pretty good. +1 star for the pretty painting on the wall, nice, cute place! :)

Come here around 10:30pm, the place was empty except for a big family dining there. We were sitted and given menus. I felt they wanted us to get up and leave because our ice water never came and the waiter didn't come around till 15 mins later to take our order. Once my pho came out it was OK,a least it was hot. It was pretty bland and the portion of noodles was huge. There was no little saucers for me to mix for hot sauce and hoisin, black pepper or extra napkins on the table. The three others in my group wasn't impress either but when it's late night I guess we're stuck coming here.

I came here with my friends because he wanted some Pho badly and I had never been here before so I decided to go along with it. When we got there, we were seated almost immediately and we looked over the menu. It was a very extensive menu and I decided to play it safe and get something other than Pho (I decided to try my friends when it came out). I got Shrimp friend rice and I ordered the curry dish for my other friend. We had a pretty good meal and we all at off each others plates so we could get a taste of what everyone was eating. My fried rice wasn't the best I have ever had but it was way better than others attempts at shrimp fried rice. My friend's curry dish was pretty sweet and not exactly what I was expecting. I've had four different types of curry now so of the four, I ranked this one as the third best curry I've had before. That's not saying much for me because I don't eat curry all the time but it was still pretty good. When it came to the Pho, I wasn't completely impressed by it and I guess for a place calling themselves Pho Lotus, I was expecting something a little better. The server had a tough time understanding my friends and I but we worked through that and everything seemed to work out pretty well.

WORST service ever. Good food. But a good food experience needs to be taken along with good service. I hate asking to have some more water. I hate being ignored when they walk past. Its somewhat frustrating. The food portions are pretty decent, although I'm no pho expert. My friend recommended this place and I thought the food to be good. Although, the service is what makes me only come here to eat again after many months. I've only had the pho though, so I can't say much of the other stuff.

Decent Vietnamese food. Pho is ok. Not bad, and not too great. I like this place. I been on four dates here with my boyfriend. Customer service is not the greatest, but overall, I will come back here for pho. It's closet to my house. Like five minute drive. It's convenient without having to drive to Stockton blvd for pho.

This pho place has pho and a variety of plates with meats and vermicilli noodles. Honey wanted #25 with the tomato paste and shrimp. Noodles were pretty tasty. The pho was alright too..not as salty as some other pho places....thats good...

Foods not that good only alright... their cafe sua Da used to be good. Its a tad too sweet now. I'd rather drive to south sac for Vietnamese food even though this place is only 3 mins from my house

My wife and I have had the pho on more than one occasion and it was certainly satisfying! The pho broth isn't too salty and has a really good flavor. Nice friendly service. The cafe sua da (Vietnamese Ice Coffee) is nice and strong and they don't go overboard with the condensed milk. If you like Thai Iced Tea, make sure to order the larger size. It's worth it!!! You'll be paying a little more since it's Elk Grove, but it's worth visiting if you're in the area and don't want to drive to South Sacramento.

This place is just average--- we come here once in a while since we live in the neighborhood and when we're too lazy to drive to stockton blvd.... their beef broth is okay--- not the best but not the worse either.. their vermicelli dishes are pretty good, but nothing spectacular.. i basically come to this place knowing that the food will just be OK... their prices are a little more expensive than other pho places, but it might be the location that makes up for it, plus the fact that it's pretty clean inside... all in all-- just OKAY.

GOOD: Clean, food is light, not as salty, pretty decor BAD: Relatively pricy than other pho, smaller portions FAV: Combination Pho Small

My first experience, they sat someone who walked in after us first and when I complained, all they said was "sorry". When I decided to come back, the food wasn't that great. I ordered Rare Steak & Tendon all the time. the tendon was hard (should be soft) & the steak tastes funny. The dry vermicelli noodles weren't that great either. I gave this place several tries, the tendons are always hard. I guess the Pho noodles itself is ok as far as the flavor. I'd eat here again if I had no where else to go.
